陈毅一向重视与善做统一战线工作,擅长结交党外朋友,充分体现了老一辈无产阶级革命家那“海纳百川,团结至上”的宽广胸怀和高瞻远瞩的战略眼光。为此,陈毅曾经被毛泽东赞誉为“天才的统一战线的执行者”。他出任上海市第一任市长时尤其如此。
