Although it has long been known that Professor Tang is suffering from cancer (in the first part of this article), Professor Nancy is suffering from cancer. However, her news that she passed away is still abrupt. After all, she is only 64 years old. For academics, this age is the prime of life. For a time, memories of bit by bit since the acquaintance together in my heart. A acquaintance with her in the summer of 1983. At that time, I was studying as a publicist at Georgetown University in the United States. It was exactly that year that the annual meeting of the American Association of Diplomatic History was held at the university. I met her and her later husband, Kong Hualun (in this article, Professor Warren). At that time, Warren taught at Michigan State University and is already a famous expert on the history of U.S. diplomacy, especially the history of Sino-American relations. His book The U.S. Reaction to China has a very influential impact in both the United States and China.
