在德里的甘地廣場上,下午的太陽熱辣辣地晒着,两万多個印度的普通的人民,密密地坐在地上。这是当我們的汽車经过街头的時候,到处都可以看見的普通的印度的人民,勞動人民、小市民、知識分子,男的和女的,老太太和小孩子。他們也許还沒有机会看我們代表团的藝術表演,也許只在街头上望見过載着我們疾駛而过的汽車,可是今天,却聚集在这兒來欢迎我們,為了望一望我們的脸,听一听我們的声音,已經在骄烈的陽光底下,整整地等了幾個鐘头。
In Delhi’s Gandhi Square, the afternoon sun was sunbathing. More than 20,000 Indian ordinary people were sitting on the ground.
