An eight-member delegation of American hydrologists, led by Dr. John Schacker, Chief Engineer of the National Weather Service’s Hydrographic Office, was invited to visit China from April 14 to May 1, 1987. During the visit, U.S. experts visited the Hydrology and Water Resources Dispatching Center of the Ministry of Electricity and Water and some hydrological stations and hydrological forecasting systems belonging to the Beijing, Yellow and Long Office offices and conducted business discussions with their counterparts in hydrological forecasting in our country. On April 30, both China and the United States held the “Sino-American Surface Water Hydrology Science in Guangzhou.”
