Introduction The rise of post-colonialism in the 1970s was an academic product of intense political and cultural criticism. As its theory developed and deepened, it gradually expanded from an initially unequal exploitation of the relationship between the sovereign and former colonies to the study of the relations among races, genders and strata within Western countries. The groups that hold the right to speak of colonialism, erosion and assimilation of the ideology and culture of marginalized groups are particularly prominent in immigrant countries. Made in Canada
