引言美联邦地质调查局(USGS)巡测船S3-77在白令海阿留申盆地取得7个一套的重力岩心,岩心近表层有一薄层浅红褐色氧化层,其它均为绿灰色还原型沉积物。这个氧化层明显地代表了第四纪晚期的一个事件,这个事件影响了白令海深部的沉积物,但不影响白令海大陆架的沉积物。本报告的目的是提出数据和解释这个事件的模式。氧化层由褐色硅藻软泥组成,夹有灰绿色到橄榄色硅藻软泥。氧化层厚约8—10厘米,位于沉积物-水界面之下0—8厘米处。氧化层通常位于岩心5—10厘米
Introduction The USGS patrol boat S3-77 made seven sets of gravity cores in the Aleutian Basin, the Bering Sea. The core has a thin reddish brown oxide layer in the immediate vicinity of the core, and all others are green-gray reduced deposits . This oxide layer clearly represents an event in the late Quaternary that affected sediments in the deep Bering Sea but did not affect sediments in the Bering Sea shelf. The purpose of this report is to present data and explain the pattern of this incident. The oxide layer consists of brown diatomaceous earth slime with lime-green to olive diatomaceous mud. The oxide layer is about 8-10 cm thick and is 0-8 cm below the sediment-water interface. The oxide layer is usually 5-10 cm above the core
