This article argues that the “Post-Theory” era in our hypotheses requires a more intellectual attitude than ever before, and that this attitude has shaped the theory of disguise in all its forms. After portraying a brief history of recent theoretical developments, the article distinguishes between the four dimensions of intellectual activity (description, modeling, storytelling, reflection), and as long as we want to try to understand our world, these dimensions are always intertwined together. The article goes on to point out that all four dimensions are included in the interpretation activities, and this interpretation activity should show the continuation of the theory in another sense. With Wlad Godzich, Steven Knapp and Daniele Giglioli or Claude Lévi- Strauss, the article reinterprets her interpretation as a form of atacticity closer to “wild thinking,” in contrast to the unrealistic idealization of modern “science.” However, it concludes by rejecting such dichotomy and calling for the “theoricolage”, the unbridled and enjoyable mix of theory and patchwork.
