香港政府统计处除向政府部门提供必要的统计资料外,主要是采用多种方式向公众发布统计资料,具体方式包括发布新闻稿件、编印刊物、处理市民查询以及通过不同电子媒介发布。一、发布新闻稿件对于公众人士而言,获悉最新统计资料快捷而有效的途径是通过新闻发布,政府统计处将就大众关注的统计数据向传播媒介发出新闻稿件。在每年12月,统计处通过政府新闻处通知传媒有关翌年定期性新闻发布的详细时间表,统计处将严格遵守这个时间表,所有新闻稿件均按照原定日期公布。这是统计处的一项主要工作目标,既能使统计资料发布工作按部就班地进行,又能体现统计资料发布的公正性和公开性。

The Census and Statistics Department will strictly abide by this schedule. All press releases are announced on the original dates. This is a major objective of the Census and Statistics Department. It not only enables the publication of statistical information in a step-by-step manner, but also reflects the fairness and openness of the release of statistical information.
