After the founding of New China Academy of Sciences graduate enrollment began in 1951. 1977 Chinese Academy of Social Sciences independent building. In 1978, under the cordial concern of the Party Central Committee, the first graduate school of humanities and social sciences in China, the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, was established. In the same year, it resumed the recruitment of master students and in 1983 began to recruit doctoral students.
