美国钢铁公司研究所发明一种在开采煤层前消除煤层瓦斯的方法。这种方法是从地面打竖井并进行完井,类似于标准的油汽井。初期试验表明这种竖井能显著地减少瓦斯向矿井工作面的涌出。现已开设了大量的竖井,结果证明一方面极大地减少了煤的瓦斯含量。另一方面生产了有经济价值的瓦斯。还以多孔介质双向流动的原理对瓦斯在煤层中的流动过程进行了数学模拟。
The Institute of Iron and Steel Company invented a method of removing coal seam gas before it was mined. This method is to shaft and complete well from the ground, similar to a standard oil and gas well. Initial tests show that such shafts can significantly reduce the gas gushing to the mine face. A large number of shafts have now been opened and the results prove that on the one hand the coal gas content has been greatly reduced. On the other hand it produces gas with economic value. The flow of gas in coal seam was simulated by the principle of two-way flow of porous media.
