INTRODUCTION The study of the sea level change of the Holocene in South Korea began only when Park (1969) deduced that the seabed was between 6500 and 4700 years ago based on the ~ (14) C dating of the marl of Xinpingchuan (near the dike) on the west coast of South Korea.
