The film is the 11th film directed by the famous Greek director Theo Angeloopos and an epic blockbuster with profound political and cultural themes. At the Cannes Film Festival in 1998, the judges agreed that the film was “the only outstanding movie of the year” and therefore awarded the “Palme d’Or” award.
