编织柳是生产柳条供作编织原料用的一类柳树。用柳条编制的各种生活,工艺制品及小型家具,轻巧美观,行销国内外市场,是重要的出口贸易产品。在我国,能作为柳编利用的柳树种较多,但目前生产上普遍栽植的只是簸箕柳(Salix suchowensis)、筐柳(S. linearistiplaris)、细枝柳(S. gracilior)、北沙柳(S. psammophila)、篙柳(S. viminalis),杞柳(S. integra)等几种。为满足柳编业发展的需要,一方面要充分利用我国的柳树资源,选择适宜柳编的柳树进行人工栽培;另一方面要通过遗传改良的途径,选育高产优质的编织柳新品
