印华作家黄东平创作时间近半个世纪,创作主题多样。无论是小说、散文,还是在诗歌的创作中,作者关注的主题一直向下:其一是着力再现华侨华人百年来海外斗争、扎根的曲折历史,其二是表现华人华侨双重的故乡情感,即海外华人对祖籍国的思念以及在现居国由农村流向城市过程中对“童年的故乡”的留恋;其三是深情关注华人华侨中的普通百姓和印尼当地的劳苦大众。

No matter whether it is a novel, an essay or a poetic creation, the author’s topic of concern has been going downwards. One is to focus on reproducing the tortuous history of the overseas struggles of overseas Chinese over the past century and the second is to show the dual hometown emotion of overseas Chinese in China The overseas Chinese’s thoughts on their ancestral homeland and their nostalgia for the “hometown of childhood” while they are living in rural areas and going to the cities from their native places; the other is that they are deeply concerned about the ordinary Chinese in overseas Chinese and the laborious people in Indonesia.
