Based on a large amount of new materials in the buried hill basin of Anhui Province, Anhuichelys Yeh (1979) was systematically re-studied and classified as Testudinidae. The genera of Anhui Province includes three species of the Paleocene strata in the buried hill basin: the A.siaoshihensis Yeh (1979), the Wanghudun Formation and the Plum Formation (A. tsienshanensis Yeh, 1979), and A. doumuensis sp. Nov., A new species of the Middle Paleocene. A. Xinzhouensis Chen (1983), produced from the Paleocene of Xinzhou in Hubei Province, is a synonym of the late sunrise of Anhui turtle. As a member of the continental vertebrate fauna, the turtle is most likely a terrestrial terrapin and the first tortoise superfamily member to have a carapace hinge.
