京剧艺术博大精深,不愧为国粹。京剧鼓师在京剧中占有重要地位,他不仅司乐队指挥之职,掌握着全剧伴奏和演出的节奏、气氛,烘托剧中人物的思想感情,体现流派艺术的特色,而且有时还司导演与教师之职。如此重要的艺术地位,就要求京剧鼓师必须有一定的艺术修养,不仅知识面要广,而且艺术造诣要深,其技巧与才能,都必须达到一定的高度。否则就难称其职,即使勉强在其位,也是徒有其名,甚至是滥竽充数的南郭先生。
