Trace potassium spectrophotometric determination, due to the reference crown ether compounds made great progress. In this paper, a new double crown ether was synthesized. The optimum conditions of extraction and determination of potassium, the influence of coexisting ions and the composition of the complex were discussed. The law applies to tap water, trace potassium in water. 1. Synthesis of Double Crown Ether (BC): After dissolving 5.42 g (19.2 M) of 4’-aminobenzo-15-crown-5 in 30 ml of anhydrous dioxane, 4.2 ml of triethylamine was added. Under N 2 protection and vigorous stirring, 3.09 g (9.52 M) of N-p-toluenesulfonyl was added dropwise
