按照《档案法》及有关文件的规定,各机关的档案,凡具有永久保存价值的。一般都要在形成机关保存若干年之后即陆续移交进馆。因此,档案馆是各机关重要档案的最后归宿,实际上是机关档案室工作的继续和发展,它既要为全党、全国、全省、全地区或全县(市)服务。又要为各机关服务。可以说各级档案馆都是党和国家的一个历史文献宝库和思想宝库。档案馆的任务就是在各机关的大力支持下,不断丰富这个宝库,开发这个宝库,使之为建设有中国特色的社会主义作出应有的贡献。几年来,档案进馆工作虽然取得了很大的成绩。但从中央机关的情况看,还刚刚开始。100多个中央机关中,向中央档案馆移交档案不到20个,只占五分之一左右,大量档案没有进馆。中央档案馆有近万平方米
