Objective To investigate the imaging features of rat liver cancer blood supply. Methods Twelve rat liver cancer models were examined by color Doppler flow imaging (CDFI), hepatic arteriography (HA), and portal venography (HP) and compared with pathology. Results 2~3mm tumor nodules were mostly portal venous blood supply (type I), and the cell differentiation was high. The 3~5mm tumor nodules were mostly hepatic arterial and portal vein dual blood supply (type II) with high cell differentiation. >5mm tumor nodules are mainly hepatic arterial blood supply, portal veins are only involved in blood supply (type III) at the periphery of the tumor and cell differentiation is poor. The blood flow shown by CDFI around and inside the tumor nodules represents the tumor vessel and/or tumor staining seen by the angiography. Conclusion The imaging performance of rat liver cancer blood supply evolution has a reference significance for the diagnosis of human liver cancer, the choice of interventional therapy and the prediction of efficacy.
