Our Electronic Technology course uses materials compiled by Huazhong Institute of Technology. Teaching materials on the synchronous counter design methods are described in detail and non-binary asynchronous counter involves very little. The asynchronous counter is used more in the field of industrial automation. Therefore, we made some discussions in teaching practice. That is, the design method of synchronous counting moved to use. The results show that designing a non-binary async counter is much easier than designing a non-binary co-counter.
