胡乐国生于1934年农历五月初六。祖籍浙江永嘉县湖头村,兄妹三人均生于温州。高中毕业后进过校办农场,也在工厂干过粗活,当过代课教师。从1959年4月起进入温州园林局当临时工,开始栽培花卉和制作盆景。自幼喜爱唱歌,走路唱,坐着唱,忙也唱,闲也唱,“留声机”的外号由此得名。后来创作了几首儿歌,发表在《上海广播歌选》。他对美术亦有浓厚兴趣,曾梦想成为美术家。拜师项雁书之后,对盆景艺
