我的外祖家和朱先生的外祖家有着通家之谊,我母亲的伯祖(崇绮)是朱先生的外祖父(张仁黻)的科举座师。我的先母幼年和朱先生的母亲常在一起玩耍。两家小孩的一同玩耍的友谊是最坚固、最友好的。我在几十年前,曾登堂拜见过朱伯母,那天我最难过,忍着眼泪,没敢掉出来,因为我的先母已久去世了。朱先生早年在辅仁大学国文系读书,多才多艺。能文,是文笔流畅:能武,是能演武生戏。从前许多文人都爱唱票戏,唱老生的多,唱旦角的少,唱武生的要武术的基本功,所以,票友多不曾学过武术,也不敢擅动武生戏。
