人民教育二月號張凌光同志的「實行全面發展教育中若干問題的商榷」一文,認為在培養學生全面發展的教育中發生一些矛盾,確實是目前一般教師所苦悶的問題,同時,也影響了全面發展教育的貫徹。這些矛盾的產生,我認為主要是由於對學生文化教養的要求過高所引起的。目前一般學校對學生的要求過高,一方面表現在要求學生各鬥功課都是四分、五分;另一方面表現在要學生全部掌握課本上的知識。這兩方面的表现從形式上看好像是一回事,但實際上是兩個問題。第一,目前國家尚未頒佈統一的評分標準,因而教師評分的高低其伸縮性很大;第二,大部分學科尚無教學大綱,要求學生掌握課本上哪些材料便無標準,所以有的教師便以自己的所長舆愛好來要求學生。 學生應獲得的文化知識的標準如何確定呢?當然各級學校的標準應各有不同,這是一個複雜的問题,不過要求學生全部掌握課本上的材料,而且各鬥功課都要同樣的得到四分、五分的成績,這是各級學校都不需要的。且不說今天各門功課地教材分量重,不能這樣要求學生;即使將來减輕了各鬥功課教材的分量,也不能這樣要求學生。各种課本上的知識是基礎知識,其中有些基本概念和定義是需要學生深刻
