玄参科的许多植物都有很强的观赏性,常见的有金鱼草、毛地黄、柳穿鱼、夏堇、蒲包花等。这里要说的香彩雀 Angelo-nia salicariifolia Humb.也是这大家族的一员。它是一年生直立丛生草本。原产美洲,我国广东、海南有栽培,西双版纳热带植物园2003年引种栽培。一年四季花开不断,花色有白色、紫色、紫白相间,非常美丽,在园林应用上具有广阔的前景。形态特征草本,丛生,全株被腺毛,高80～120厘米。
