我国钢铁工业的生产量已居世界的第四位,但是生产技术尚未赶上先进水平,尤其是小型和线材轧钢,工艺技术装备水平较低。我国现有700多套小型和线材轧机,除首钢300小型、长城钢厂、北京特殊钢厂等引进的连续式轧机以及我国自行研制的45°高速无扭线材连轧机外,大都是复二重、横列式轧机,量大面广,劳动条件差,产量和质量都不稳定。根据对全国型、线轧机的调查情况来看,我国型、线轧钢企业主要存在下述问题:
