第一次见到李铁军,是在“寻找中国数码摄影师”北京半决赛的现场。现在回想起来,印象最深的是他那一口流利的英语。当时便想,这肯定是一位对各类语言都敏感而有天赋的摄影师,后来才知道,摄影只是他的业余爱好,科学(病理学)才是他的专业领域。他与显微镜的亲密接触,已将近30年。透过这种科学仪器,他开始了解人体组织、细胞的显微结构特点及其在疾病时的变化规律,之后很长的学习和工作中,他常常注意到这些组织切片在显微镜下形态、色彩和光影的微妙变化。对于当年的经历,李铁军打趣地说道: The first time I met Li Tiejun, I was looking for a Chinese digital photographer "Beijing semi-final scene.
