表面安装技术（ＳＭＴ）被誉为自半导体器件发明以来，世界电子工业的最大突破。所谓表面安装，是指将某些零件装配在线路板上的一种工艺，是采用微小的零件贴附在线路板的表面上。这样零件的密度将会大大地增高，产品的体积相应地大大缩小。使用表面安装技术，可以提高制造电路板的应用能力，降低生产成本。使电路板的性能更稳定、更可靠。同时也可以改进工厂中的生产方式和生产环境。
