为减少铁路客车发生撞击而导致的人身伤害和车辆损坏，英国铁路研究部门提出了每辆车吸收其自身冲击能的改进设计方案，试验表明该方案可行。
To reduce personal injury and vehicle damage caused by the impact of a railway passenger car, the British Railway Research Department proposed an improved design that each car absorbs its own impact energy. Experiments show that the solution is feasible.
