In addition, the Chinese opera Shajiabang is regularly put on the stage.
Another place the tourists cannot miss is the Reed Labyrinth. It is the core of the whole scenic area. It is divided to water-based and land-based sector. The crossing and bending rivers and the thick reeds form a vast, narrow, deep and twisted reed space on the water and land. The said labyrinth provided the tourists with the opportunity to seek wild fun and re-experience the battles of the New Fourth Army, who made use of the confusing space to cheat invaders. When they walk or boat in this area, they can hear the birds singing, feel the wind blowing and smell the reed giving off fragrance.
The last but not the least place worthy of visit is the Hengjing Old Street Film & TV Base. This is a place for shooting films and TV series. The base basically retains the features and styles of the traditional rural area in the 1930s and 1940s. II: The Shang Lake
The Shang Lake lies in the west of Changshu and south of Yu Mountain. It was also named Zhaoshan Lake. The legend said that Jiang Shang, who helped to found the Zhou Dynasty, lived in seclusion in the Yu Mountain and used to fish by the Shang Lake. Thus it was named after his given name.
Features: the lake is 7.5 kilometers long from east to west and 1-3 kilometers wide from south to north. The whole lake covers about 800 hectares. The “mist and rain in the lake” and the “bridge connecting to the moon”are the 12 most known scenic spots of Yushan Area.
Activities: the whole area is divided into several major areas, including Mountain & Water Culture Garden, Peony Garden, Lotus Fragrance Isle, Fishing Islet and so on.
The Mountain & Water Culture Garden starts with a square by the lake. The square accommodates a 24-meterlong and 2.5-meter-long screen wall, which is the largest screen wall in East China. The front part of this wall is made of white marble, on which the Ode to the Shang Lake written by a scholar in the Ming Dynasty.
The Mountain & Water Culture Garden also includes a rough rockwork piled by yellow stones. It is the largest yellow stone rockwork in South China. The design of the rockwork is unique and innovative. From a distance it looks like a real mountain with natural rise and fall. The main peak and side peaks are distinguished from each other, forming a powerful and grand image. The mountain hides itself among trees and flowers
A stream of water flows out of the rockwork into a deep pond, producing the thunder-like sound. A hole can be found in the middle part of the rockwork just behind the waterfall. Visitors can rest in the hole and feel the coolness brought by the combination of rock and water.
Two old buildings are standing not far from the square. The Hushan Pavilion is a Japanese-style brick and wood structure located by the lake. The Pavilion is surrounded by railings and windows are opened on rooms’ wall facing the lake. The Double Pavilion witnessed the famous love story between the poet Qian Qianyi and the entertainer Liu Rushi. Though the two have different social roles, they fell in love with each other at the first sight just under the Double Pavilion. Their love underwent the tests of social criticism, prejudice and even the war. After their death, they were also buried together.
The bridges in the Garden not only connect the scenic spots but also function as a scenic spot. There are seven bridges in total with different shapes, structures and implications.
After finishing the tour in the Mountain & Water Culture Garden, you can pay a visit to the Lotus Fragrance Isle. The first place you should not miss is the Four-landscape Garden, which gets its name because of the four different scenes in different times and orientations. The north is featured with mountain landscape and lake waves; the south has the lotus blossoming in the sun; the west is famous for the sunset light shining the whole Garden and the east contains the shadows of a pavilion and a pagoda. This Garden is the best place to see the dense vapor rising from the water surface, which is one of the most famous scenes in the Shang Lake.
The Isle is connected with other places by a bridge named “Hu Qiao”(Lake Bridge). It is a three-arch bridge. The three arches take tbe semi-circle shape and can form three complete circles with their reflections. The bridge body crosses vertically with the moving track of the moon in the middle of every lunar month. At that time, when the moon rises to a certain height, the main arch (and its reflection) will overlap with the reflection of the moon, forming a strange but wonderful image. It is one of the 18 best scenes in the Yushan Area. Many famous poets and scholars wrote poems and prose to describe this phenomenon.
Besides the mentioned places, people can see the tombs of Qian Qianyi and Liu Rushi. There is also a playground in this isle which can be the paradise for children.

When the temple was expanded, a giant rock was unearthed whose rock lines resembled the Chinese characters “Xing Fu” (prosperity and fortune). Thus the temple was named after this.
