爱情的等待是精神世界的一场修炼和苦行,审美关照下是对20世纪西方文学经典之作的解构与重构。透析《霍乱时期的爱情》与《了不起的盖茨比》两部作品,书写的均是一个痴情男子追寻初恋的故事,然而随着情节的发展和故事背景的转换,两位主人公却收获了截然不同的结局。命运的愚弄、时代的嘲讽、人物的软弱、悲剧的本身早就脱离了作家文本的存在。本文将从创作背景、人物性格、主题思想等多个方面来洞察两本小说的艺术特色,进一步体悟两本名著的独特魅力。
