“扬花落尽子规啼,闻道龙标过五溪。我寄愁心与明月,随风直到夜郎西。”此诗是唐代大诗人李白闻王昌龄贬谪龙标时所作。诗中的“夜郎”即今天的湖南省新晃侗族自治县。《史记》《后汉书》等史籍和“秦的统一”“汉代图”等古代地图上均载明,新晃远在战国、秦汉时期属夜郎古国,唐宋两朝在新晃置“夜郎县”287年。考古证明,这片土地远在5000多年前就已产生稻作文化和农耕文明,是我国南方人类文明发祥地之一,是夜郎最原始的人类遗址及夜郎文化的发源地。原全国人大副委员长、著名社会学家、人类学家费孝通先生曾在此题词:“夜郎故地——湖南省新晃侗族自治县”“楚尾黔首夜郎根”。 新晃生态与环境优越。由于地处武陵山系向云贵高原苗岭余脉过渡地带,属亚热带山地季风湿润气候,境内四季气候温和分明,峰峦叠起,沟壑纵横,溪流清澈,山川秀美。林木以亚热带常绿阔叶林为主,共有林地面积10万公顷,森林覆盖率达66.7%,林木蓄积量302万立方米,树种繁多,并生长有多种珍稀林木,国家级森林资源——右旋龙脑樟呈群落分布。目前,全县共建有封山育林股份合作林场45个,经营面积45万余亩,森林景观区十余处,其中省级森林公园1个,夜郎谷风景区被评为“湖南百景”系“中国画眉鸟之乡”。 这里选载的是著名青年诗人王行水先生抒
