古镇以井出名。薛仁贵征东时在此安营扎寨掘下72面琉琉井。其中东大井西大井相隔一里,井底相通,深10米。水清澈甘甜。井水每年除夕干涸一次,次日清晨水升出,并高于地面1尺余。越是天旱水位越高。百姓称二井为神井。方圆八九里的乡亲都饮用此水。相传,井内有鱼——鲤鱼身黑鱼头。一般不现,只有气候变化方现出。清末有一张姓挑水卖,挑到一对鱼,周围人都叫他送回去,他执意把它串起来晒,鱼死,张姓吐血身亡。
