Jean-Marc Gales, Chief Executive Officer of the European Automotive Parts Suppliers Association (CLEPA), told reporters at the Paris Motor Show on the role of the EU’s carbon emission cap and associations in 2020 that the carbon emission per kilometer ceiling will drop to 95 grams by 2020 and that by 2025 Down to 70 grams. Every car manufacturer must comply with the new rules. This summer, the European Commission to develop new proposals on new car emissions standards within the EU will be submitted to EU member states and the European Parliament for consideration. According to EU standards passed in 2009, before 2015, the average emission of carbon dioxide per passenger car must be reduced to below 130 grams. At that time, the EU also proposed a non-binding goal of reducing its carbon emissions to 95 grams per kilometer by 2020.
