青岛西海岸新区区位条件、科技人才、海洋资源、生态与政策环境等优势明显，海岛数量多、资源丰富，为海岛旅游创设得天独厚的条件。但海岛旅游仍处在传统观光型阶段，文章在介绍青岛西海岸新区海岛旅游特点的基础上，指出海岛存在基础资料不完善、开发方式粗放单一、生态破坏严重等问题，并给出要向休闲、娱乐、度假型生态旅游转型升级，重点在于注重规划、因地制宜、整合资源、夯实基础等方面的对策。
Qingdao West Coast New Zone has the obvious advantages of location, science and technology personnel, marine resources, ecology and policy environment. With a large number of islands and abundant resources, Qingdao enjoys unique conditions for tourism. However, the island tourism is still in the stage of traditional sightseeing.
