问:茶园为何要提出“封园期”? 答:要回答这个问题,首先要了解叶片的生理功能。茶树叶片是进行光合作用、呼吸作用、蒸腾作用和有机物合成与贮藏、转化的重要器官。茶树老叶中贮存的碳水化合物,是新梢萌发生长所需养分的重要来源。据研究,茶树光合产物总量的60—75％是由上年老叶提供的。所以茶树合理留养,保持一定的叶面积,是获得翌年丰产、优质的基本条件。
