公款吃喝,作为群众议论的热点问题,越来越受到有关部门的关注。从审计部门掌握的情况看,大多数单位的招待费数额都不小,吃请的标准越来越高,招待费开支呈上升趋势。笔者认为,控制招待费开支势在必行。众所周知,大吃大喝的危害很大。一是浪费大量资财。据不完全统计,全国每年用于吃请的费用在1000亿以上,相当于两个三峡工程的投资额。一方面无钱进行国家基本建设投资,一方面浪费了大量资金。二是损害了干群关系。目前,我们国家还不富裕,一部分群众还没有过上温饱生活,而一些干部却大吃大喝,挥金如土,在群众中造成极坏的影响。三是滋生了一些干部的腐败行为,由于大吃大喝成风,有的干部寻找各种借口,请客送礼,办事业没有钱,却想方设法搞钱吃喝,直至不择手段搞钱吃喝,造成违规、违纪。要有效地控制招待费支出,必须采取强有力的措施。一是加强艰苦奋斗的教育。我们国家还是发展中国家,经济还不够发达,还有几千万人口没有脱贫,广大党员干部要从党的生死存亡的速度认识大吃大喝的危害性,克服那些只要不贪污,吃点喝点不要紧的错误认识。二是加强制度建设。如控制招待标准,控制陪客
