玉米抽丝期等十一个性状在遗传上以基因的加性效应为主。亲本效应与一般配合力效应间有显著的正相关。抽丝期等五个性状与籽粒产量间有显著的相关、偏相关或较大的直接效应;叶向值等三性状与籽粒产量间的相关不甚显著。根据抽丝期等七性状对产量进行综合指数选择,其预期遗传进展比直接选择高70%,对抽丝期等三性状进行约束或最宜指数选择,既可获得与直接选择相仿的效果,又限制了该性状的发展,最宜用于群体改良以培育理想型玉米。
