五十年代初期,北京市大力发展工农业余教育,师资绝大部分来自社会闲散人员。他们中一部分是在旧中国失业的中、小知识分子,一部分是在党的政策感召下,走向社会的家庭知识妇女。他们有一定的文化知识,有为人民服务、对社会作贡献的愿望,但是相当一部分没有从事教育工作的实践。随着工农业余教育事业的进展,新建的业余学校日益增加,高小、初中班级也越办越多,干部、教师已逐渐不能适应工作的需要。当时,整个北京市的教育事业都存在着
In the early 1950s, Beijing vigorously developed amateur education for workers and peasants, most of whom came from idle members of the community.
