黄宗忠先生是当代著名图书馆学家、教育学家。近10余年来,他积极开展图书馆学基础理论和体系结构的创新,高度重视当代图书馆现实问题的研究,特别强调图书馆学研究的本土化和专业化,密切关注学习借鉴国外图书馆学理论观念、技术方法和先进经验为我所用,在图书馆学理论、图书馆事业建设等领域提出了一系列独特见解,在我国图书馆界产生了广泛而深远的影响,也为发展和丰富我国图书馆学理论研究做出了重要贡献。
