这里所说的“重复”,是指不应该的、可以避免的重复;这里所说的“竞争”,是指健康的、公平合理的竞争。所谓“高层次”,只是相对而言。竞争,一般说来,是发生在较高层次,发生在第一线,新的时间新的空间里的事;重复,一般说来,是发生在低层次里的事。废话套话重复;人云亦云重复;芸芸众生重复;没有创见、你抄我的我抄你的重复。党的历史,只有一个,何至于一年之内出版上百种?成语词典,是关于成语的经典性解释,是立规矩的,而规矩只有一个,何至于一出便是几十种?不是说不能出版探索性、商榷性的东西,也不是说一点重复都不允许。恰恰相反,精粹的、经典性的“这一个”往往是从各种版本、各种争
