细胞毒(cytotoxicity)效应是指靶细胞受到免疫性杀伤的现象,本文中主要指的是效应细胞对于靶细胞的所谓“细胞介导的细胞毒”(cell-mediated cytotoxicity,CMC)。CMC包括细胞裂解(cytolysis)效应和细胞抑制(Cytostasis)效应,前者指靶细胞裂解死亡,细胞膜破坏,细胞内容物释放;后者指靶细胞的代谢或增殖受到抑制,表现为DNA和蛋白质的合成减少,胸腺嘧啶核苷等物质的掺入下降。细胞免疫、肿瘤免疫和移植免疫等许多领域的研究工作都涉及到CMC的检测。测定这一反应的方法多种多样,较为原始的是镜下肉眼计数方法,它利用一些靶细胞
