Objective To investigate the effect of psychological intervention on anxiety and depression in patients with coronary heart disease and their quality of life. Methods One hundred and twelve hospitalized patients with coronary heart disease were randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 56 cases in each group. The control group received routine cardiology treatment. On the basis of this, the observation group was given psychological intervention for 4 weeks and followed up for 3 months . The Hamilton anxiety scale (HAMA), Hamilton depression scale (HAMD) and health status questionnaire (SF-36) were used to evaluate the two groups at the time of enrollment and at the end of follow-up. Results At the end of follow-up, the scores of HAMA and HAMD in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P <0.01), while the SF-36 scores of the observation group (except social function) were significantly higher than those in the control group (P <0.05 or P <0.01). Conclusion Psychological intervention can help to improve anxiety and depression in patients with coronary heart disease and improve their quality of life.
