目前,我国公路、市政道路、厂区道路,大部分采用水泥混凝土路面。水泥混凝土路面,是以水泥浆为胶凝材料,以粗细骨料为强度刚架形成强度的一种高级路面。其具有刚度大、强度高、耐磨特性好、整体性与稳定性优等特点。水泥混凝土路面,受施工工艺、使用环境等因素的影响,也会发生病害。水泥混凝土路面最主要的病害当属裂缝,它会把路面板分为数块,破坏路面结构的完整性,进而逐步丧失路面整体刚度,直至最后完全失去承载力而丧失使用功能。
