在近日举行的National Association of Broadcasters会议上,Network Computing Incorporated(NCI)公司展示了一款使用166-MHz Pentium处理器的顶置盒设备。最新消息表明,虽然用户并不是十分热心,但使用电视技术的计算机仍将成为高技术企业关注的焦点。展示的顶置盒采用166-MHz Pentium芯片,使用NCI的TV Navigator软件,可使用户通过电视上网。TV Navigator软件从根本上说,与WebTV操作系统的功能一致。它也可以使用户通过电视接收Email或其他网络信息。但是,这要取决于计算机销售商或ISP如何设置顶置盒。
At a recent National Association of Broadcasters meeting, Network Computing Incorporated (NCI) demonstrated a set-top box device using a 166-MHz Pentium processor. The latest news shows that although the user is not very enthusiastic, but the use of television technology computer will continue to be the focus of high-tech enterprises. The set-top box featured a 166-MHz Pentium chipset and uses NCI’s TV Navigator software to enable users to surf the Web via TV. The TV Navigator software is fundamentally the same as the WebTV operating system. It also allows users to receive Email or other network information via TV. However, it depends on how the computer vendor or ISP sets up the set-top box.
