According to a market research report released by the U.S. high-tech market research firm Gartner on February 18, 2003 global computer sales are expected to increase by 7.9% to 138.7 million units. The company also predicts that in the first quarter of this year, global PC sales will reach 33.2 million units, up 4.8% over the same period of last year. In the second half of the year, the growth rate will also accelerate and the annual growth rate will reach nearly 8%.
