由北京海关和哈尔滨丰华机器厂合作研制的全国海关第一套自动化邮检系统于1994年10月31日开始投入试运行。海关总署副署长刘文杰和北京海关关长甄朴为该系统正式运行剪彩。 该系统由自动输送及统计、打印设备;双向x射线电子扫描检查设备;电视监控及图像录制设备;流程显示屏及有线通信设备等5大部分组成,该系统每小时可输送检查邮包500—700件。在运行检查中,海关工作人员可在总控制室内通过模拟显示屏和闭路监视设备对邮检全过程进行控制,并在邮件上自动打上相应的符号,然后通过输送带送到相应地点进行检查处理。图像录制设备可将邮包图像随时记录下来,以备查验分析。通信设备可保证内部通信联络畅通。计算机设备可将每天、每月或全年邮包检查各类数字准确统计打印,实现了邮递物品监管工作的自动化、现代化。
