In the past, the choice of installed capacity for small hydropower stations mostly adopted the method of annual utilization hours and the ratio of guaranteed output multiples. In recent years, a series of articles on “methodological studies” and small hydropower stations have been published in order to solve the problem of choosing arbitrarily the installed capacity of small hydropower stations. Most of these literatures are based on the summary of the actual project on the basis of the non-regulated diversion hydropower station installed capacity to introduce economic conditions to obtain a reasonable choice of installed capacity, this paper is from a theoretical perspective on the installation of small hydropower station
