近年来,热释光剂量方法在国内外已得到很大发展和广泛应用。 我国于1961年开始这方面的研究工作,试制成了氟化锂、硫酸钙、硼酸锂、氯化钠、氟化钙等剂量元件。天然氟化钙的原料来源广泛,具有价格低廉、制做工艺简单、灵敏度高,线性范围宽等优点,可用于个人及环境剂量监测,也可用于大剂量测量。虽有光敏性强、对γ能量依赖性强等缺点,但可以通过避光使用和采用补偿的方法加以克服。该元件中子灵敏度极低,可用在中子、γ混合场中测量γ射线。
