Affected by the abandonment of various wastes in the oceans and seas, the discharge of domestic sewage and runoff from the ground have caused pollution of fecal coliform groups in coastal areas. If the sea area is seriously polluted by sewage or people eat polluted seafood, it is possible to cause the occurrence and prevalence of certain diseases. Seawater in fecal coliform has long been used as an indicator of water pollution is one of the important signs. Its presence and high numbers indicate that the waters are contaminated by warm-blooded faeces. Therefore, investigating and monitoring changes in fecal coliforms in coastal waters and marine products has important implications for hygiene and epidemiology. Many countries in Japan, Europe and the United States have conducted surveys and monitoring of the distribution of coliforms in certain harbors, estuaries and some economically important waters.
