近几年,扬州评话出现了一些可喜的变化:一是,演出场所相对固定,演出场次增加。目前在扬州市区及江都、高邮、仪征、泰州等地有相对固定的演出场所8个,每年保持总演出场次千场以上。二是,演员队伍基本稳定,老中青梯次结构初步形成。目前扬州曲艺团有评话演员12人,在岗7人,退休5人(含内退),李信堂、惠兆龙、杨明坤等老演员技艺娴熟,宝刀不老,陆建荣、姜庆玲等1984年进团的业务骨干成为书坛顶梁柱,马伟、谭敏等一批年轻演员茁壮成长,
